Maudez, 22420 Plouaret
Saint Maudez was a holy healer who was invoked to "heal swollen joints and protect children from diseases caused by worms".

Situated in the centre of a hamlet, the calvary is associated with the chapel of Saint Maudé (Modez or Saint Maudez, now destroyed) and a devotional fountain. According to the signage, and as suggested by the presence of buboes on the shaft of the cross symbolising plague buboes, it was erected after an epidemic. It was built by the rector Yves Le Manac'h in 1633. The base features four statuettes (decapitated) in high relief and a coat of arms (illegible).

The devotional fountain known as "Feunteun Maodez" in Breton is located to the west of the Saint-Maudé chapel. It appears on the 1835 land register and has been restored.
It consists of four granite masonry walls supporting a bench, with access via two stiles leading to a small rectangular pool. The overflow drains into a channel and feeds a tank, then a gutter downstream. The statuette has disappeared.
